Community Projects
The Junior League of Asheville is committed to building a better community through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. These volunteers spend thousands of hours a year working on projects that positively affect the Asheville area.
Each year the Junior League of Asheville partners with Asheville-area nonprofit organizations to create innovative programs to serve the community in our focus areas of women, children, and education. The Junior League is able to provide small grants, as well as volunteer support, to launch new programs and help agencies transition these programs for long-term sustainability. Applications are generally submitted in the summer, for projects to begin the following year.
If your organization is interested in applying for a future Community Project/grant, please contact Merrill Nix McCarthy and Calder Wilson, Junior League of Asheville Community Research & Project Development Co-Chairs.
We would also like to take this opportunity to brainstorm with you to prioritize the critical needs areas in the community. The league is in the process of researching a new impact project this year and we would appreciate your help to determine where we can best utilize our resources. Examples of past impact projects include the W.C. Reid Community Center and Angels Watch. The impact project is typically a three to five year commitment of Junior League of Asheville dollars and volunteers.
