History of the Junior League Next-to-New
Next-to-New, the longest continuing money raising project of the Junior League of Asheville, opened in September 1948 and closed in 2009.
Next-to-New sold good-quality merchandise provided by league members through a quota system and donations from Sustainers and community friends. The shop was staffed and run by league volunteers with the help of a paid Sales Associate. Profits were returned to the community through funded projects.
